It's definitely that time of year. This is my front lawn, and it's getting pretty hairy. I'm betting that if we get a dry weekend, my husband will actually go out there and mow it. But that hasn't really happened yet, so hairy my lawn is.

I love to get down low for my shots, and I couldn't have been any lower than I was for this one. In fact, the camera was on the ground. I suppose I could have dug a hole, but that would have messed up part of the yard and brought the wrath of the husband down upon myself. We don't want that, so we'll just call on the ground the lowest it could go. ;)

We were back at the high school for another soccer game, and my son was off doing things more interesting to little boys. I'm not sure what he was doing, but when I took this photo, it just felt to me like he was searching for bugs. Of course, my son often really is searching for bugs, so it really wasn't a stretch.

Either way, the scene was a little boy keeping busy in a little boy manner, and it made a great shot.

My son wears Converse. So does my daughter. After my daughter got hers, my son insisted he had to him some. We ended up running all over town, searching for a pair in his size. We did finally find some, and despite the difficulty he often has putting them on, he loves those shoes. In fact, he slept with them the first week he had them. Put them on the pillow right next to his head.

I'm digging the whole retro vibe of this photo. The color version has wonderfully warm late evening lighting, but I thought the subject matter was screaming for black and white. I love the way this one turned out.
