2011: 57/365 Yum

29 MAR 2011

A bad cell phone photo of my dinner on Day 57. This is another family favorite: Penne Sausage Bake. When I want something yummy that's quick to put together and make, this is one of the recipes I go for.

2011: 56/365 Flaky

28 MAR 2011

I love trying new recipes. Not because I enjoy cooking, but because I love eating. New flavors. I love finding and cooking a dish that becomes a brand new family favorite. On Day 56, I made a chicken recipe that called for a crushed corn flake coating. It was my first time to cook with corn flakes.

That recipe is now a family favorite. Yum.

2011: 33/365 Ahem...Colorful

05 MAR 2011

I was cooking. It's been long enough that I no longer remember what I was cooking, but I'm sure this was a mixture for a sauce. I thought the colors looked interesting together. My husband didn't agree at the time, but later he thought it tasted good.

YUM!

Day 184

03 JULY 09

My family had dinner at my favorite in-town pizza joint. It's also my daughter's favorite. And my son's favorite. Not my husband's favorite; he doesn't care for American pizza. Lucky for me, this place also serves other Italian dinners. The kids and I share a large thin-crust pie while my husband has lasagna or chicken parmigiana or the like.

The kids and I always have to get our pie half pepperoni/half cheese. My son will only eat cheese pizza (although he'll pick off the pepperoni, if he must). My daughter will eat it either way, as will I, but I do prefer to have something on it. I settle for pepperoni.

And now I'm craving pizza.

Post-processing: noise reduction, sharpening, curves adjustment, slight crop, I cloned out my son's shirt, added the border.

Chips and Salsa

DAY 65

06 MAR 09

My husband called me from work. "Don't cook," he said. "We'll go for Mexican down the street."

WOO HOO! I love a dinner when I don't have to cook!

During the meal -- actually before our entrees arrived -- I was taking pictures of all sorts of things in the restaurant: our menu, the salt & pepper shakers, the salsa, the chips... My husband was giving me funny looks. I don't understand why; I was being discreet. :P

Anyway, as I was putting my camera away, my husband stuck a little chip into the salsa and left it there. It took a second for me to realize he was staging a shot! Of course that was the one I had to use. I just wish the focus would have been a little sharper. That's what I get for being discreet and not using a flash.

Post-processing: noise reduction, sharpening, curves adjustments, slight brightening, border addition.
