Comfy Doggie

DAY 46

15 FEB 09

Since I'd already featured one of my dogs in Happy Doggie, I figured it was only fair to feature the other. I just didn't realize it was going to happen so soon.

On Day 46, I went downstairs to start my Sunday morning chores. When I glanced out the window onto the back patio, this was the sight that greeted me. Even funnier, this isn't an unusual position for this little guy. Kind of like when I was teenager and thought it was comfortable to lay with my head hanging off the end of the bed. Except this dog is sound asleep.

While we adopted our Happy Doggie as a puppy from Animal Control, Comfy Doggie actually adopted us. He was a stray who just showed up in our neighborhood one day; he'd wander the streets during the day, and before long, he was sleeping on our front porch at night. When the weather turned cold, I took pity on him and brought him into the house. And that, as they say, was all she wrote.

Coincidentally, the day after we finally took him in, another neighbor called Animal Control on him. They knocked on my door, I explained that we'd decided to take him in, they thanked me profusely, went on their way, and never looked back.

Post-processing was my usual: sharpening, noise reduction, curves adjustment, and border addition.

  3. Thanks, Heather! What you're not getting from the picture is the noises he often makes. When he sleeps like this, it's major entertainment!

  4. Thank you, Gayle. He's the sweetest little guy; it's hard for me to fathom anybody just turning him out.

  8. Susan -- (I posted this earlier; not sure why it didn't show up). Thanks for your comment! I was extremely happy I had the camera handy when I saw this out the window. I'd have been very sad if I'd missed this shot.
