Final Score

DAY 99

09 APR 09

This past high school soccer season, my daughter played for the junior varsity team. The season was an adventure: sometimes exciting, sometimes frustrating. Always fun. And it was our first experience with high school soccer.

We may be a little too optimistic, but we figure this season was her only JV season; next year we fully expect her to make varsity. Which is why this photo is significant for us. It's the final score of the final game. We were the guests, so it's also a win. What a way to end the season!

I wonder what next season will bring?

Post-processing: noise reduction, sharpening, people removal, border addition.

  1. Good luck to her for next season Lynn.
Long may she continue enjoying Football (sorry, Soccer!)
The scoreboard confuses a Brit not used to 'American Football! Lol.

  2. Moley -- As I'm sitting here watching a UEFA match I recorded on DVR (Liverpool v. Chelsea), I have to laugh along with you. It drives my daughter nuts that Americans call the game soccer; she insists it looks more like "football" than American football does. Particularly since American football players rarely use their feet on the ball.

Some of the stuff on that scoreboard confused me, too, and I partly think it was left over from something else. The only numbers that matter are the score and the time. The rest of it is for American football.
