Sliced Peaches

DAY 34

03 FEB 09

My Project 365 shot took me back to the grocery store. This picture was actually an afterthought; I was walking past this display -- had actually passed it -- when the bright color caught my eye. I turned back and looked, and thought it might make an interesting picture. So I pulled the camera out, held it at waist level, and sneaked a quick picture before anybody saw me.

Agent 365, that's me.

Post processing: noise reduction, sharpening, horizon straightening, curves adjustment and border addition. I considered cropping out the cans that were turned the wrong way, but decided they added a kind of rebellious aspect.

As rebellious as sliced peaches can be, anyway.

  1. Like it - a real peach. I hope you didn't blow your cover.

  2. That's a lot of peaches. But what a fun shot, and I can just picture you taking it.

  3. Tess -- Always an adventure, eh? Something about this one still strikes me.

  4. Heh! Glad I'm not the only one who feels a bit self-conscious taking pics at the grocery store. This one would surely make Andy Warhol proud!

  5. I can't help but be self-conscious. Employees see you doing things like this and they look at you funny. Honestly, I think they might be concerned you're a secret shopper or something along those lines.

Thanks for the Andy Warhol compliment. You made me sit up just a little straighter with that one. :)
