Hi-YA!

DAY 7

07 JAN 09

While watching my children practice "fall downs" in their Hap Ki Do class, I discovered my first real opportunity so far to try something new. Showing movement with blur. Of course I've had blurry pictures in the past, but never on purpose.

I put my DSLR aside, pulled out my Canon PowerShot SX110 IS, and set it on "auto". When composing the shots, I ignored the camera's demand to put the flash up (yes, it does tell me that in bright red capital letters). The result was a lot of shots with great motion blur.

My daughter, the black belt in the foreground, thought this picture looked like a major "butt shot" and is not pleased.
