Going Up?

DAY 109

19 APR 09

The staircase in my house. I held the camera down near the floor below the bottom step to get this perspective.

I'm not entirely happy with the way this came out. The original was very yellow and grainy, so I converted to black & white in an effort to improve the appearance. It didn't completely do the job, but I admit it is better.

The horizon gave me fits. If I correct it at the top, it's off at the bottom. If I correct it at the bottom, it's off at the top. I think the issue is I should have had the camera turned just a little more to the right. We'll just called this one a failed experiment. I might try again at a later date. With better lighting. ;)

Post-processing: noise reduction, sharpening, black & white conversion (using the green filter), border addition.

  1. What software do you use for post-processing? Photoshop could correct that perspective problem - I can tell you how if you have it.

  2. As a matter of fact, I do use Photoshop. CS3 to be specific. There's so much to learn about that program! Any hints/lessons you could share would be REALLY appreciated.

  3. Very cool photo. I like the grainy look and feel it makes the stairs have a older, more worn look and feel to them.
